We Converted A Closet Into A Reading Nook!
I wanted to share a small project we completed over at my husband's parent's house. My husband remodeled one of their bedrooms to turn it into a nursery.
Room Remodel in Progress:
As we were inspecting the closet, we found some drywall needing patching. That inspired my husband to work on an idea to utilize the closet space as additional seating area and reading nook.
He designed and built a bench with adequate framing to be able to accommodate adult weight limits. Underneath the bench, the space was left open for more toy and gear storage. He also installed a shelf for added design interest and functionality. As an additional accent, the walls of the closet area were wrapped with a bead board paneling material.
Building In Progress:
We purchased a set of cushions on Amazon that fit perfectly on the bench top. The nook is roomy enough for my husband or I to take a quick snooze while the baby naps!
If you're looking for an alternative for a standard closet, consider this conversion to add more function and utilized space to your room.
